Those of you who did Chistmas Counts this season may have encountered one or
two Red Phalarope. This was a pretty good year for them as they were
apparently blown in by "the storm of the century."

What follows is a distributional map of count numbers for Red Phalarope from
Christmas counts. Values in parentheses represent best guess approximations.
Since the count period stretches out over a 2 week period, some counts may
not have captured the true abundance of REPH for the period.
Even so, there seems to be a trend. The bulk of the phalarope landfall
occurred on the north/central coast of Oregon where the majority of inland
records appeared as well.

I am still taking data. If you have data from any CBC that has not been
mentioned, send it in and remember 0 (zero) is a data point
