Every year in rehab (I specialize in ducks) we get in hens who have been
extremely mistreated. The "boys" tend to gang up on them. When one has his
way (to put it nicely) all the others must as well. The poor hens wind up,
at best, exhausted with no feathers on the top of their heads, down the back
of their necks and backs that are bloody and featherless. At worse, they're
drowned or crushed to death. Makes you wonder how the species survive so
successfully!

I must say, I've never seen anything like the male ducks' sex drive!
