Hi, Tweeters,
I've been lurking for several months now, and will shortly come to
the group with some pied-billed grebe questions--but for now I'm writing
in response to a phone message I received here at Seattle University.
Charles Nolcini, originally from Kentucky, tells me he's wondering what to
do with his father's collection of 30-50 bird eggs that date from about
1895-1930. Mr. Nolcini doesn't know whether they're shells only or have
stuff inside. (I assume empty, on the basis that organic matter that old
would be noticeable olfactorily?)
Any takers? Just out of curiosity, why? (Are they useful for
DNA-reading purposes, for instance?)
If so, let me know (privately if you want) and I'll give you his phone
number.

Happy tweeting,
