There was a Kestrel defending a nest hole in one of the cottonwoods
between the soccer field and the nature trail east end parking lot in
1990 and 1992. I do not know if Kestrels actually nested there either
time. I was too new to birding to do anything sensible like determine
the sex(es) of the kestrel(s) to determine if there was a pair, nor to
follow up with further observations.

I have only one summer sighting of RTHA at Marymoor, so I my guess is
that they do not nest there.

I've seen male harriers at least seven times, but this makes up only
about 1/5 of my harrier sightings. Most of these sightings (of males)
were in April and May, and most times I saw a female and male together.

I do not know if Cooper's or Sharpie's actually nest in Marymoor,
although I have seen accipiters there during the late-spring and
throughout the summer. Does anyone know what they like to nest in? If
they nest in connifers, they probably do *not* nest at Marymoor.

I've seen Osprey around Lake Sammamish fairly frequently, but I don't
think any nest near-by. There is/was a nest just south of
Woodinville-Duvall Road that would be fairly close to Lake Samm as the
Osprey flies.

In response to Sachiko & Co.'s sighting and Michael Hobbs' comment: in a
decade of at least weekly visits to Marymoor Park, I've seen female
Northern Harriers regularly but not a single male. I believe my notes
would show a couple of summer sightings, but no more than that: as Michael
suggests, it probably doesn't breed there. However, I'm pretty sure
Sharpshins do, and Redtails, and of course there's the Bald Eagles' nest.
I have seen Kestrels there in the breeding season twice, in one case
actually copulating, but have no idea how close to the park they might
have been nesting (and it was about six years ago). I've also seen up to
three Osprey at a time overfly the park. Does anybody have a fix on the
closest Osprey nest to Marymoor Park?
