Hi tweeters,
Yesterday I spoke of Varied Thrushes, et al in my yard. This morning
the snow is still coming down. I went out to stock up my feeders. As I
approached the double hanger I use, the Pine Siskins seemed reluctant to
leave. I was three feet away and several still remained. I got within a foot
and one was still there. It finally left, but as I was brushing the snow out
of the seed tray, several returned. One even landed briefly on my glove.
Geez! I knew they were aggressive little suckers but that seems to be asking
for trouble.
Same birds I mentioned yesterday, minus the chickadees, plus a Song
Sparrow and a Red-breasted Nuthatch.
Friday night I built the feeder design put on the WWW by Tor Ivar
Bjoeness. This morning I put a little niger/sunflower chip mix in it and
hung it outside under my eaves. I'm anxious to see if it gets used right
away due to the nastiness of the weather.
