Hello Tweets,

On Sat. the 27th Ellen Blackstone mentioned seeing 3 V.G.
Swallows at Spencer Island and asked about early records of this
species. I don't know about records from past years but thought
y'all might be interested to know that 1 Violet-green was seen
there on Christmas Day '95 by my friend Marvin Breece. Whether
the 3 birds there recently are early or late who can say, though
with this cold spell I'm afraid they could soon be "late". Seems
like there's been more reports of winter swallows than usual this
season; anyone else think so or is it just that I'm finding the
strength of having tapped into the community knowledge of Tweeters?
