It's a balmy 8 degrees here after overnight lows of -15 degrees. The cold
weather has brought some additional birds to our feeders.

Today we had 6 Brown-headed Cowbirds and 1 Yellow-headed Blackbird among 48
Red-winged Blackbirds (RWBL). Before the cold snap we had only had 1 or 2
male RWBL since 1/4.

Although there were 392 RWBL and 2 YHBL on our CBC, they had not been coming
to feeders.

The Rufous-sided Towhee, Harris's Sparrow and 2 Golden-crowned Sparrows
continue to visit our feeders too.

We also found a dead American Goldfinch under one of the shrubs.
