On 6/29/96 while I was practicing driving (I'm a HS student), I
saw a male red-shafted flicker in the hills above Shoreline Library. I had
just finished backing around a corner at about 4:10 when I saw the
flicker taking a dust bath at the corner across the street. I know one of
the streets was 172nd; I'm not sure of the cross-street. A house sparrow
flew down and hopped around the flicker, then flew off again.
