Here are the details on some of the tapes of Northwest birds:

Nature Sounds of the Northwest: Vol. 1: Birds of the Dry Interior
Nature Sounds of the Northwest: Vol. 2: Birds of the Estuaries and
Mountains
Nature Sounds of the Northwest: Vol. 3: Birds of the Lakes, Forests, and
Parklands

All recorded and narrated by Ken J. Hall and Peter R.B. Ward.
Produced by Total Recording Co., N. Vancouver, BC V7R 4K3.
These are quite good in my opinion. All recordings are from BC or WA,
50+ species per tape, and pretty good selection.

Familiar Bird Songs of the Northwest
Produced by the Portland Audubon Society, 5151 NW Cornell Road, Portland
OR 97210

This is a companion tape for their "Familiar Birds of the Northwest".
The recordings are local, but there are technical problems with the tape
(i.e. some recordings have significant background noise, etc.) 50+
species, organized by habitat.

Bird Songs of the Pacific States (2 tapes or 2 CD's)
Produced by Thomas G. Sander and the Cornell Lab. of Ornithology, Ithaca
NY 14850.

130 species from CA, OR, and WA, but I suspect that most recordings are
from California. There are some significant dialect differences from
the birds we have in Seattle in some cases. The species list is also
tilted towards CA (i.e. includes Blue-gray Gnat-catcher and Lawrence's
Goldfinch, but doesn't include Veery or Red-eyed Vireo). I do like the
long recordings however - some other tapes include such a short clip
that you can't really hear the pacing of the song.
