I've noticed a couple of comments disparaging "Rhoddies". I assume that
those comments were aimed at the 600 species of Asian Rhododendron, and
assorted gaudy hybrids, not our own Pacific Rhododendron, R. macrophyllum,
or the misleadingly named White Rhododendron, R. albiflorum or cascades azalea.

We have an asian influenced garden, the part closest to the house is
reasonably cultivated, while leaving the back of the lot more "wild". This
seems a good compromise as we've counted 32 species over a 10 day period
during the height of the migration.

The cats remain the biggest problem, kept tolerable with a slingshot and dry
beans.
