This discussion reflects the essence of a book just read. It is by
Sara Stein titled Noah's Garden, Restoring the Ecology of our Own Back Yards.
The author wrote the book in the hope of educating others about how to
landscape with native plants for wildlife and suggests among other techniques
David Wright's plan for linkages throughout the suburbs. In addition to
being enjoyable reading, the book lists many native plants (unfortunately
east coast predominately) and techniques for converting from the suburban
dessert to a more diverse habitat.
