I would not hesitate to move the nest to a nearby place, and have every hope
that the parents will move over. I have seen nests moved and young taken
care of, so try:

a place that is approximately the same shelter conditions - was it out of the
rain & sun? Aim for a secure platform - maybe you could rig up some fabric
that makes a "Hammock" in a nearby tree.

a place as hard to find for predators - especially cats. If this wasn't such
a hot looking place, try to think of someplace nearby that will be at least
equivilent in terms of hard to get at.

It will cause quite a ruckus, especially if the parents are watching, so they
are at risk from being discovered by predators. Try to keep cats away until
things settle down. Not much you can do about other birds like crows and
jays unless you are willing to post a young boy nearby with a wrist rocket
and a sack of marbles.

Good luck and I hope that you will post your success.
