The pied-billed grebes at Green Lake in Seattle have started to hatch.
The nest at the south end of the main lillypad bed along the (south)west
shore had two chicks on Friday, and eight this morning. At least one
other nest looked like it might have a chick or two - the sitting grebe
had its wings piled curiously high over its back.
