Hi tweeters,

This morning I was out watering when a flash of yellow flew past me and
landed in an apple tree in the park in front of my house. I walked over and
observed for a few minutes an orange sparrow sized bird. It had some
streaking on one side of its head but not on the other. A few minutes
later, when I was filling my feeders, I saw it again in a Douglas fir. This
time I saw its wings and there was a bit of streaking on the tips. I looked
in my Birds of Victoria quickly, but I didn't see anything that resembled
this bird. It is a quite bright medium orange. Does anyone know what this
bird could be? I wanted to post this while it was still fresh in my mind.
I will be looking in other books and hopefully will identify it.
