On this Saturday, this Sunday, and on the following Sunday, The Victoria
Natural History Society will be taking 3 groups, totalling 100+ people, up
onto Hurricane Ridge, out of Port Angeles. I'll be leading this Sunday's
group. (The original plan was for one trip if we could interest perhaps
10 -20 people. Suddenly it became a little more than a sellout).

Birds and flowers are the targets. We will start with possible pelagics
and other seabirds as we cross Juan de Fuca Strait. It's a little early for
pelagics, but we will ride the bow anyway.

Are there any Tweeters who have been on Hurricane Ridge lately and who
may wish to tell us what birds to look for in a 3-hour hike from the lodge?
Any ptarmigan, pipits, Horned Larks, Gray-crowned Rosy Finches? And if so,
in which direction(s) might we go from the lodge? Anything special to look
for in the subalpine forest? It has been a few years since I was there, so
any tips would be much appreciated. I will share your advice with the other
leaders and will share our group findings with Tweeters.

You can post me personally or broadcast it to all...no doubt there
are others out there who will be interested.

Thanks,
