As stated in the Spokesman Review article on the Juniper Forest fire:

I was really concerned about the effects this fire might have had on the
juniper trees and the ferruginous and Swainson's hawks that nest in them.
After reading the Spokesman Review article and the quotes from knowledgeable
folks quoted therein I am convinced that the fire will have long term
benefits. I would love to take a hike through the area next spring. I'd
like to see a kangaroo rat, maybe a racer or two. Mostly, I would like to
see unbridled dunes.
