Sunday morning, while enjoying a late breakfast, I spotted a black-capped
chickadee at the suet feeder. I pointed out to my non-birding friend, who
frowned and said "Susan, do chickadees change shape by county? Those don't
look like the ones outside my house!". Well, paint me red and call me a
fireplug - when I actually looked at the birds, instead of assuming they
were chickadees from their presence on the suet feeder (and a flash of
black and white on the head), I discovered they were two red-breasted
nuthatches! Never before seen in my yard!

That'll teach me to feel confident early in the morning. :)
