I regularly find Western Meadowlarks in spring and fall migration at the
Fill (every spring and fall since 1992). They are not hard to find, but
they are quiet. Same is true for Mourning Doves. However, they surely
don't breed there, as you would certainly hear them singing throughout the
summer if they did. Western Meadowlarks breed in the western Washington
prairies and locally elsewhere. Many can be found in the Ft. Lewis area
and near Sequim. Localized breeding records are known from most westside
counties.
