Hi Tweets!

I was out watching our newly fledged RS Hummers last evening when it
suddenly dawned on me that many of the birds who've kept us company over the
last few months (since the beginning of migration) have moved on.

Interestingly, some of them are residents. The Robins are gone as are the
Stellers Jays. We have a nominal number of BC Chickadees and a couple of
Juncos left but all the sparrows have flown the coop (except that stupid
male House Sparrow - after the swallows gave up on the nest we had to plug
the hole).

The Red-winged blackbirds are pretty much gone as are the swallows.

I know many of these guys are migrants, but isn't it a bit early for them to
begin disappearing? Several people in the area have also commented to me
that there aren't the usual number of hummers this year.

However, the at #$% bugs are out in record numbers!

Food for thought.
