> status of murres moving along the coast into the Strait of Juan de Fuca
and around the San Juans.

Monday afternoon I talked with Joe Evenson, who assists with aerial
surveys done by the Puget Sound Ambient Monitoring Program. They had flown
as recently as last Friday and had seen very few murres so far. Their area
of coverage includes the Strait and the Sound. They have 7 more days of
flying to do to complete their summer surveys. Depending on weather, they
might be making flights fairly late in the month.
