I have been chatting with Frank Conley from Joseph, Oregon about
the status of Northern Waterthrush in NE Oregon. he notes that
for four years they ha
found on breeding bird survey route in extreme NW Wallowa Co OR
and adjacent Union Co. in the headwaters of the Wenaha River
near Jubilee Lake and Target Springs. They als had territorial
birds at the Enterprise Fish Hatchery in 1993 and 1994. This
points to a previously unknown colony area. I would be interestd
in any reports from the Wenaha region. Washington birders
might want to poke around north of the line while birds are
still singing this year.
