Many years ago (15++), the hubby of a woman who worked with me, with
whom we played bridge and pinochle in order to increase our income,
told me that his teen-aged old daughter had gone down to the Willamette
late one night after curfew, with guys. He only knew because she
needed help with otter bites after going skinny dipping...

This is a bit unreliable because other critters with teeth (muskrat,
nutria) live down there, and I don't know how to weigh probabilities
in this case. I never thought much of it - a cute story, to her
eternal embarassment, no more - the otter weren't even the point of
the story.
