Hello, this is Portland Audubon Society's Rare Bird Alert. This recording
was made Thursday July 18. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls at
233-3976.

The singing KENTUCKY WARBLER first found June 23 twenty five miles west of
Paisley in the Fremont National Forest has been seen all week. By July 16
it appeared to be singing less regularly than earlier.

A PLAIN TITMOUSE is being observed in a south Salem neighborhood. It has
been around for about two weeks.

Birding has been slow lately, probably because of the weather and the onset
of the fall molt. Coastal migrations have been slow but COMMON MURRES are
moving northward and WHITE-WINGED SCOTERS are flying southward. HEERMANN'S
GULLS and BROWN PELICANS are now regularly being seen. A BULLOCK'S ORIOLE
and a LAZULI BUNTING have recently been reported from the city of
Tillamook.

On July 14 a BOBWHITE, some RED-EYED VIREOS and LAZULI BUNTINGS were found
in the Sandy Rive Delta near Troutdale. On July 15 a male LAZULI BUNTING
visited a feeding station in Bonny Slope in southwest Portland. Two BLACK
SWANS recently dropped onto a backyard pond in Aurora, south of Oregon
City.

Two WHITE PELICANS are now foraging about the east end of Ochoco Reservoir
in Crook County east of Prineville.

Thats it for this week.
