Subject: Banded Pigeons in the feeder. . .

Hi!

I'm new to tweeters and to the state of Washington.

I've got a pretty busy feeder that I maintain in my front
yard. I get the usual finches, chickedees, juncos,
jays and towhees but recently some very large doves or
pigeons invaded my feeder (they can barely squeeze onto it).

After I identified them as Banded Pigeons, I decided that
they are welcome as opposed to the starlings et al. Being
from the East, I'm not familiar with these large birds.
They seem like mourning doves on steroids.

Any comments on these birds?
