Hi all --
Did anyone save the discussion on Purple and House Finch id from a few
months back? Shoot, I *knew* I should have saved that! Some researchers
here are starting up a Purple Finch project, and though most of the
birds they've caught are fairly obvious Purples or Houses, they have
caught a few odd-looking individuals of unknown species persuasion. (They
are netting somewhere where both Purples & Houses ("hice"?) are common.)
In-the-hand id tips are especially appreciated. Vocalization tips might
be useful too.
