Roger Tory Peterson gave an evening lecture at Wagner College (NY), which I
was attending at the time, about 1948. Along with the slides he gave bird
calls and I can still hear his Cardinal to this day. And of course every
time I hear a Cardinal I think of RTP. His influence on birders, birding
& nature study, in general, is immeasurable
