Hi Tweets,

Sorry if I'm repeating something here (digest mode really skews the timing
in a thread sometimes), but the Utne Reader, issue 66, Nov/Dec 1994, has a
long article about coffee ("Coffee Madness--crazed by their desire!" Hey,
that's me--double strength that espresso, my man ;-) that's quite
fascinating. History, economics, marketing, politics, sociology, health
aspects, environmental options, the works. Good stuff.

PS A fairly hefty first-year Peregrine Falcon has been hanging around
downtown New Westminster at present. I watched it whack a starling a couple
of days ago. Haven't seen the adult(s) which roost (nest? still
speculating) on the Queensborough Bridge to the west since winter.

Also, a Sharp-shinned Hawk was over Kitsilano. Unlike Cooper's Hawks,
they're fairly uncommon in Vancouver BC during the summer, though a few
pairs nest at various locations around the Greater Vancouver Checklist
Area.
