Got a super look at a barred owl in Discovery Park today, thanks to a
friendly fellow birder who fetched me & my friend to go have a look at it.
It was being mobbed by two very angry robins (they were doing that ""kik!
kik! kik!" call, loudly & repetitively). It was in a woodsy area just
across the road from the stable near the bald eagle nest (and whose horses
are those, anyway? police horses?), i.e. if you are standing on the road
by the dirt arena looking at the bald eagle nest, the owl would have been
behind you. There is a nice footpath heading through that chunk of the
woods (walk downhill on the road a bit and look for a path going to your
right).

So keep an ear out for those upset robins.
