Kathleen,
I'm the "friendly fellow birder." Glad you liked it. It made
my day. Also glad you posted this since I was meaning to post it in the
hopes that one of you was on Tweeters since I forgot to ask your name.
The rest of you may be interested to know that there was a Whimbrel on
the South Beach which I suspect is actually much more unusual than the
owl though not quite as spectacular. There were also a couple Marbled
Murrelets in the rip off the point. All in all a spectacular morning at
Discovery Park and to think I almost went back to sleep thinking what am I
going to see at Discovery Park in June. For nonlocals Discovery Park is a
large city park on Puget Sound in Seattle.
