For those interested in our few remaining Crested Mynas--sadly down to a
mere handful--here in Vancouver BC, one of the pair at West Boulevard and
West 41st Avenue was feeding a branching juvenile in a tree across a *very*
busy intersection about 100 meters NE of the nest site. How the youngster
got there without being flattened by traffic is anyone's guess.
Both adults were entering and leaving the nest entrance hole, a drainage
pipe that's set into the north-facing red-brick wall of the Bank of
Montreal building, about 3 meters up and 1 meter in from the corner,
suggesting that more myna kids are due to fledge soon.
