This depends very much on the aptitude of the student. However, the deepest
pitfall, and I'll step on toes, is the mistaken belief to major as an
undergraduate in biology or a related field. All the options you mention
really require skills in other areas. The biology easily comes second. You
can teach biology to an engineer, physicist, or lawyer. It's tougher to
teach these other skills to a biologist.

Post-graduate work is another matter, and where the other skills can be
honed to become a biologist.

In this competitive world, at the best school possible!

With the possible, only possible, exception of a school of theology, they
could probably get what they need at whatever school they gain entrance.
