Below is a forwarded note from another list, concerning a color marked and
radio-tagged Brown Pelican.

I sent this person Mary Gustafson's address at the US Fish and Wildlife
service. If the particular marking scheme mentioned below means something
to any tweeters, I'm sure the writer would love to hear about it (but note
that the writer is not on tweets - reply directly to her if possible).

Subject: Re: Sighting of Instrumented Pelican

While my friends and I were cleaning our fish catch on the beach at
Bahia de los Angeles, Baja California, Mexico last week we noticed that
one of the pelicans vying for scraps was carrying identification rings on
its legs. Further inspection also revealed it had a transmitter on its
back and was trailing an antenna.

Can anybody out there in birdland use this little piece of ground-truthing
or know of someone who could? As a member of the tracking fraternity, I
would be very interested in some feedback. Specifics are:

Species: Brown (?) Pelican. Green tag on left leg, white on right leg.

Number on tag = 168. Location = Bahia de los Angeles, Baja California,
Mexico (I can be more precise if necessary). Time = 1400 (local), May
31, 1996.

Hope to get a response from one of you bird heads out there.
