Tweeters,

I took my Ornithology Class on a field trip Sunday. While trying to pish up the
singing Common Yellowthroats at the Meadow Creek Campground bog, up popped a
beautiful alt. plum. Le Conte's Sparrow. Got great looks at its head (shape),
black crown stripes, median whitish crown, yellow face, gray auriculars, and
buffy breast. I would greatly encourage other birders to get up to Meadow Creek
Campground ASAP, as I will not be able to get back up there until Saturday.
It is easy to find, 2 miles north of Fish Lake (Lake Wenatchee). DeLorme atlas
page 82, T27N, R17E, Sec.3 SE/NE. The road is paved almost all the way, and the
main road just past Fish Lake is marked with a sign - "Meadow Creek Campground".

I'll be transcribing my field notes on to the Documentation of an Extraordinary
Sight Record form as soon as this (extraordinarily busy) quarter is over.

Please call me if you have questions about how to get to Meadow Creek
Campground, or anything else.

Cheers,
