Hi Tweets, Kelly Cassidy and I chased the Chelan Co. LeConte's Sparrow
this afternoon, but with no luck. We stayed for about an hour in the spot
where Dan had seen it, with another birder. Even tried playing a tape
after several minutes of no response to waiting and pishing. But it was
the afternoon, and it could be the bird was out of sight. Who knows? If
you go look for it, note that the campground is the first right (dirt road
and there is a sign) off the paved road after FR 6300 crosses Meadow
Creek. The campground and bog are at the end. Apparently the bird was
seen in the bog near the campground (a trail goes out into the bog from
the campground). Good luck...
