Mike, I've been preparing bird specimens for a number of years, and those
testes measurements are what we see in males that are collected from the
breeding grounds. (Wintering males' measurements would be approximately 2
x 1 mm.) Migrants males can also have enlarged testes, but those
dates are very late for migrant birds.
