This is definately a common spot as are most of the rocks and pilings around
here.
Double crested and pelagics have extensive cormoranteries on the south side
of Protection island which is only a few stiff wing beats away.

Wing spreading on Protection Island might well be visible from Cape George
or Diamond point with suitable optics (~1.5 miles). Boats are allowed to
within 200 meters. Visiting the island would probably be difficult but bird
studies are the thing there.

There is also a tower that pelagics love just off the west shore of Fort
Flagler. Most of these spots are used in the winter and summer.
