Got to spend a little bit of time going the loop on a beautiful day.

At times surrounded on all sides by WILLOW FLYCATCHERS and SWAINSONS
THRUSHES. They were everywhere.

Partial list:

willow flycatcher
swainsons thrush
western wood peewee
black-capped chickadee
northern harrier
red tailed hawk
black-headed grosbeak
song sparrow
fox sparrow
hermit thrush (on same bush with fox sparrow, nice comparison)
gadwall
piedbilled grebe
great blue heron
bushtit
robin
starling
crow
red-winged blackbird
marsh wren

and special birds of the day:

HAIRY WOODPECKER -- the first I've seen in quite some time

EASTERN KINGBIRD -- which I wouldn't believe if I hadn't seen it myself
got a real good look at it for several minutes.

A pleasant Friday morning.
