Tweets--

[snip...]

*Carkeek Park*...located off
3rd St and 110th... It looks like a really nice place...it has reservable
cooking lean to so I reserved one for Friday July 12, 1996
from 5 pm - 9 pm (when they want us out of the park)..there is a small,
sheltered cooking area there complete with charcoal cookers for our use..
so, it's possible to grill burgers, dogs, etc..bring your own charcoal..
there's a parking lot within ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
50-100' of the tables and access to the Sound and a *truly amazing view*
of the water. Seems like it's got everything..including indoor *facilities*
a short distance away...the place is surrounded by trees and it looks like
**good birding area**...this place is so conveniently located with easy car
access that it will be possible to bring lawn chairs, heavy coolers,
etc..as carrying distance is short..there is another area located down below
this one that is open field surrounded by woodland..I think there will be
something for everyone at this location..We probably won't have the whole
park to ourselves, but it worked fine last year...

My Seattle map says--

from the South: I-5 to 85th...go left on 85th to 3rd..turn right on 3rd.
to 110th...turn left and follow 110th into the Park...

from the North: I-5 to Northgate Way (becomes 105th) right on Greenwood to
110th...left on 110th into the Park.

So, there you have it...

July 12, 1996 Friday 5-9 pm
Carkeek Park

Bring everything you want to eat, drink etc...and your bins, scopes
etc..(Russell--better bring that great Swarovski scope so we can
all drool over it..and hopefully, not on it, although it is supposed
to be waterproof.. :)

There were some Tweets who posted invitations to out-of-town Tweets who
need some space to roll out a sleeping bag for the night...thanks for
doing that...and if there are any other folks who wish to extend a similar
courtesy, thanks to you in advance...

As I mentioned in an earlier post, I will try to get there far enough
ahead of our 5 start time to set up a little command post of sorts.
