The free ferry boat service will begin on July 4. I don't have detailed
info right now but it is in the mail and I can post it when I get it.
Last year the ferry left from the transit dock and left about every half
hour. A shuttle bus ran from the back of the Chamber of Commerce building
at the entrance to the south marina to the marina office. I think this
year the ferry might leave from the 10th Street Public Boat Ramp. The
ferry did not operate on Mondays (I think). They did ask you to schedule
your return ride so that they would not end up with too many people on the
island for the last return trips. I'll post more info when I get it.

Does anyone know what the Caspian Terns are doing flying around at night?
It is very common to hear them between 11pm and 2am over the city and
quite a bit to the east of the waterfront (> 1 mile). Love that call.
Wrrrraaackkkk wrrrraaaackkk!
