Hello. I am not a member of this list, but I'm hoping someone on this
list may be able to help us. The female of a pair of wild ducks who
visits our front yard daily has been injured. She seems to have lost one
of the outer toenails, and torn another. My husband thinks she may have
gotten entangled with a fishline or a sharp object, maybe a rotor. I
think the injury occurred yesterday, since she was fine the day before and
we didn't see them yesterday. Today she is having real problems
walking even a few feet.

I'll be leaving town tomorrow morning, and my husband won't have e-mail
access, so if you have any suggestions for us please call us at 524-1061.
Even a phone number for a wildlife rehab organization would be much
appreciated.

Also, information on wild duck diet would be helpful. We put out fresh
water for them, and occassionally give them a bit of bread, but really
don't know what's best for them.

Thank you.
