Yes, the numbers of Evening Grosbeaks is definitely up this year in our area.
Everyone I've talked with about EGs either noticed them for the first time
this year, or they complained that they were "eating them out of house and
home!" We had them from May 3 through June 12 at our house and our black oil
sunflower seed bill was averaging $33 p/week!!! We usually have EGs for only
two weeks so this was very unusual.
