Hi Tweets and OBOLers,
In haste, a quick spin out to Iona Island Settling Ponds last night, with
Karen Irving, in part.
Southbound shorebirds arriving now in numbers, and first returning Common
Loons.
Western Sandpiper 38 (Rick Toochin)
Semipalmated Sandpiper 4 (1996 arrival)
Least Sandpiper 2
Lesser Yellowlegs 26 (RT)
All the Calidris shorebirds and some of the yellowlegs in Alt 1 plumage.
There was a flock of 13 Common Loons in Iona Bay, where there's been only a
handful (1-5) for the last three weeks, and a Common Nighthawk over the
Outer Pond.
It's happening.
