Thanks to the many tweeters who responded to my request for names of
botanical experts. I've contacted Art Kruckeberg, of UW, but haven't heard
back from him yet. I'll also be contacting several others who you
recommended.

For those of you interested in this subject, I probably should have said in
the original message that I'm trying to determine the status of two rather
exotic plants that I have found in established populations in
Washington--pitcher plants (Sarracenia purpurea) near Snoqualmie Pass and
yuccas (Yucca elata) near Okanogan. It's probable that both were planted
purposefully, but, as it's remotely possible they are natural populations
(both are native within a few hundred miles of the state), I've been
intrigued by them.
