The American River meanders by Mt. Pleasant campground. The harlequin ducks
were hens, maybe immature, and were hanging out in some down timber that had
fallen across the creek. I didn't pay that close attention to them when I
first saw them--when I got closer they were gone. Also saw red-breased
sapsuckers at the same site.
