About a year ago the New York Times ran a story about crows (the
hook-billed Asian variety) in a northern Japanese village. They had
learned to place nuts under the tires of cars stopped at traffic lights.
Probably a more reliable, although hazardous, method of cracking nuts than
dropping them on rocks.
