Subject: falcon fun or frustration?

On the way to work this morning, as I passed along the downtown Tacoma
waterfront, I saw quite a commotion a hundred yards or so offshore. I
couldn't stop, but I could see that it was a Peregrine Falcon chasing
Glaucous-winged Gulls round and round. I don't imagine it had any success,
and it was striking to see how much larger the gulls are than the falcon.
I saw a Merlin fly over the I-5 bridge over the ship canal in Seattle, so a
2-falcon commute isn't bad.
