Whoops! Sorry. The Jeans Rd. turkeys are located in Veneta, OR, 11 miles
west of Eugene, just past Fern Ridge Reservoir. It's a wild flock that
hangs around a semi-residential area (that is 2 acre or more parcels) and,
as an educated guess, nest somewhere around Zumwalt Park which is off Jeans
Rd. in the Jeans Peninsula Unit of Fern Ridge. (Turn right from Ellmaker
onto Jeans and go to the sharp turn - Zumwalt is on the right and is reputed
to be a good owl area)

It's pretty neat because most folks love them so they're easy to see from
the road as nobody bothers them and all the locals wait patiently for road
crossings. The toms aren't displaying yet but will be soon. The last two
years they've displayed in the same spot. One morning last year, though, a
hen was on one side of the road and a group of toms on the other. I didn't
think I'd EVER get to work as the toms were displaying in the road to her!
I finally had to get out and shoo them off the road so they'd stop!

There's also lots of Osprey nests out here so if anyone's coming our way and
wants the locations, let me know.
