Nancy, Ella, and I watched a Short-eared Owl hunting in late afternoon
sun over the wet grasslands west of Kite Hill a Sand Point/Magnuson Park
yesterday. Crows got after him/her periodically but not enough to drive
him/her off. Also heard two Western Screech Owls calling at traditional
territorial sites in Seward Park yesterday about 5:45 AM.
