This is the Lower Columbia Basin Audubon Society Rare Bird Alert for March

Nancy and Bill LaFramboise observed a Burrowing Owl on February 24, in Pasco
at Exit 12A off of I-182 heading toward the Blue Bridge.

On February 25, Dennis Johnson found a drake Eurasian Wigeon among the 100+
American Wigeons at the East Lagoon of Columbia Park in Kennewick. A friend
and I (Bob Woodley) saw this duck on February 29.

Randy Hill of Othello reports Sandhill Cranes on Royal Slope west of Othello
on February 20 and a Say's Phoebe on the Columbia National Wildlife Refuge
on February 27.

A Prairie Falcon was discovered by Ruth Fischer on February 27 along Dallas
Road about 2 blocks south of its intersection with Kennedy Road. (West Richland)

On February 28, Andy Stepniewski of Wapato reported a Northern Saw-whet Owl
in his yard. For directions contact Andy at home at 509-877-6639 or at work
at 509-877-4446.

Also on February 28, a friend and I found 1 white phase Snow Goose, 1 Ross'
Goose and 1 Greater White-fronted Goose among hundreds of Canadas in the
slough parallel to Humorist Road on the McNary National Wildlife Refuge.
Mike Denny had seen 6 white-fronteds on the refuge.

Also on February 28, we found the adult Black-crowned Night-Heron on the
east side of the 1100 Jadwin Building (Richland) just where Pat Lee had
reported it on February 23.
