Russel, I hope you dinn't think my posting was a personal attack on you.
I never mentioned being "personally violated," but was merely expressing
what I thought others were discussing too. You wondered why the
controversy over "Phil" but not over the owl. I offered a possible
explanation. I can assure you that my worries about Phil were not just
idle speculation. Someone "in-the-know" told me Phil may not have
survived the banding ordeal. And because no other information was ever
put out, what was I to think? There indeed was a strange silence about
Phil all of a sudden. Thanks for letting us know that he was released un-
harmed. In my humble opinion, the welfare of the bird should be the
first priority. I think a forum such as Tweeters is an excellent
learning tool for all of us. As far as a "grand conspiracy" is
concerned, again I never said that--I said "inner circle." By that I
meant that a few knew and a majority didn't know the details you just posted.
I never meant to accuse you or anyone else of a conspiracy--I only wanted
to know what happened to that happy little visitor from back east.
